Beware Of Sales Talk at Health Clubs

There is a chance I will go in again today but I am writing the blog while I have a few spare minutes.

I had a relatively easy day at Holmes Place today. I had my “personal Trainer” to “build me a program” today and then went to Pilates and had a great run on the elliptical. Regarding Holmes Place and their “success package” (ערכת הצלחה) I think it’s a pure Bullshit money making scheme. The need to sell it for what it is and call it a “Sample Package” .It’s like getting an after shave sample in a magazine. They give you a sample of having a personal trainer, dietician, Coacher and want you to buy packages from them for more lessons. It’s a pure marketing ploy that is BULLSHIT. The only reason I am not too upset is I got a “present” of a pair of sports shoes.

All in all I am happy with the facilities at Holmes Place and the classes but I feel as if they are trying to sell me something every minute I am there. Good thing I don’t really need them and can manage on my own and with a little help on the internet. The  trainer gave me some tips and exercises for today but he did not build me a long term program. For a long term I need to get an instructor in a “red shirt” to build me a profile which is also probably bullshit and not enough. So I will find programs that work for me on the internet myself.

I know that these are businesses that are only there to profit but I sort of get the feeling that by just doing a regular membership which is not cheap you feel like a 2nd class citizen so to speak. And they made me wait 3 weeks for this crap!!!! In the end we need to worry about ourselves in  a  gym environment and not what they are selling us. Consistency and discipline is all it takes. If you need someone to hold your hand and return the weights to their place then you will eventually  fail at your goal of maintaining\losing weight. You need to learn to fend for yourself just like in life.

Health clubs today do not care about your personal health all the y care about is how much they can sell you. The instructors on a regular shift will never go the extra mile to help someone because they want you to feel like you need the extra service by paying for their service. There is probably an exception to this rule and that is if you are blonde belter!!!

At Winlife this was big difference where the instructors had a personal touch and actually cared about everyone.

One last tip is to listen to your mother :)  She told me the “ערכת הצלחה” was a bullshit sales ploy and she has no idea what Holmes Place even is . Next time I will take her advice .
